Who doesn´t like a delicious lasagna? Hot, cheesy… a temptation! A lasagna is the perfect dish to gather the intire family to a nice lunch and it is also Garfield´s favorite dish, cartoon character created by Jim Davis, beloved by everyone!
The “Folha de São Paulo” newspaper found out the recipe to prepare Garfield´s lasagna. How about going now to the grocery store and buy Dallas´ lasagna pasta to add a touch of flavour to the dish?
- 2 500g packs of Dallas´lasagna noodles
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 250 ml chicken broth
- 1 chopped carrot
- 1 diced onion
- 750 ml milk
- 50g butter
- 1 kg ground beef
- 2 chopped celery stalks
- 50g Dallas´ wheat flour
- 300 ml peeled and smashed tomatoes
- 5 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Preheat oven to 220°C for 10 minutes. Heat the olive oil in a large pot. Add the onion, the celery and carrot and some salt to prevent the vegetables cook too much. Sauté until tender and put it in a plate, keep it warm. Add the ground beef to the same pot and stir fry up. Add the tomatoes and stir. Put the vegetables back in the pot and add the chicken broth. Reduce heat and let it boil for about 30 minutes. Turn off the heat, add salt and pepper to taste and save it.
For White sauce, melt butter in low heat on a large pot. Add flour and stir for a minute. Add Milk gradually and let it cook, stir it until the sauce thickens. When it hit the spot, keep the heat for 10 more minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.
To assemble the lasagna, use a large baking dish, layering with a third of all the ingredients. First the meat, then the noodles and finally, the White sauce. Repeat the layer twice and top with the cheese. Bake in oven for about 25 minutes, or until it´s bubbly or top golden brown.
